men were called Mark and Rodney and it is believed they were both members of the biker’s group, the Hell’s Angels and they are believed to be employees at the tattoo parlour.

An air ambulance landed at nearby St Mark’s hospital before a police helicopter circled above and officers carried out patrols on the ground.

Down the road, in Courthouse Road, police were seen taking statements from mechanics at Newmans Garage, which was also cordoned off. It is believed that this was where one of the kidnapping victims escaped there.

Sources say that a number of gunmen were still on the loose and the argument had been over the supply of drugs.

A man, 47, was arrested at the scene.

The police spokesman added: ‘At about 12.40pm today a group of three or four men entered the Fantasy Fine Line parlour and there was an altercation inside.

‘The men have then left the shop on foot and fled down the road before getting into a vehicle.’

Resident Ken Lewington, 68, said: I was out in the garden when I heard a lot of shouting for about two or three minutes. It sounded really aggressive.

‘It sounded like there were about three men going at it. I didn’t take much notice of it until I heard the gunshots go off.

‘They were in quick succession. Then I heard the police sirens a few minutes later.’

He added: ‘I’ve seen the Hell’s Angel who works in the tattoo parlour about quite a lot. I think he rides a really old Harley Davidson. It must be a good 30 years old.

‘He seemed like a decent bloke. I just know him to say “hi” to.

A girl, 17, who lives nearby said: ‘I heard at least three shots. It sounds quite scary. I just hope Mark and Rodney are okay. I think they are both Hells Angels.
