Hi guys, wanted to see what people's thoughts are on the iPad 2 Launch in Solihull and if anyone had any news or info.
Far as I'm concerned I'll be there, from previous launches people turned up and queued around 5.30/6 in the morning, from info I got from Touchwood security, on 25th they will be opening the Poplar Entrance (near John Lewis) before any other door due to the problems with too many open at the same time, which in turn caused too much chaos at previous launches.car park queuers will be led to the back of the main entrance line to keep order so personally would be just easier to walk round to secure your space and avoid disappointment.
As normal touchwood don't tend to give much away so I was lucky to get any info at all but it sounded fairly well thoughtout to stop any apple madness happening.
If your going, good luck and share any info as I have and we can all hopefully enjoy a nice new iPad 2 come Friday.

heh. lack of user support? more like too much support from the warez community... ;) http://mugget.com/web_images/twisted.gif
if you dont' know what really happened to it, dig up the whole story, very interesting, amusing and scary all at the same time. :D
it's probably unrealistic to expect a product that has massive appeal to the warez types not to be cracked and then freely distributed.
do you have any links to "the whole story"? I did some Google digging and I didn't get anywhere. thanks.

I had a similar experience at Somerset in Michigan. I walked out after 4 hours when only 20 people had been processed. It was really disheartening. I agree that they should have either scrapped the walk-in line or processed them at an equal speed until the 100 or so phones they had were gone. Employees kept encouraging us that it would only take "a few hours" in the walk-in line, too. It was just such an unfair process. Why do walk-ins at all? Ugh.
I called the store today, and of course they "got a new shipment." Pretty disgusted with Apple right now. I get having a low supply to increase demand, but do you really need to tease the people who are so loyal to your company that they show up hours before your store opens? Cruel.

You could always try adding a few frames to get it to run smoother.
yeah - it's hesitating every 4th frame for me which is really distracting...

When you say interview, do you mean the recruitment seminar or the interviews after the seminar?

If you like your phone, your provider, post good things about your experiences. This provider battle is growing old fast....
Couldn't agree more. I don't see why you have to hate another network, is their competitor paying you off or what? If you like yours awesome, if you hate another wtf cares?

I just can't understand why they can't sell things separately and then give you a discount when you buy the two things together (since that's basically what they're doing with Kinect bundles and game bundles).
-Don
Because they make more money selling bundles than standalone systems, pretty much. It's just marketing. It's like fast food restaurants making you want the meal deals instead of just the sandwich. They make the most money off the soft drinks and the fries. Same thing applies here. Sucks, but what can you do...

Have you tried something as simple as using GIFs or PNG files? I don't like JPGs for the web for reasons like this. As said above though, you need to get rid of the images and pick up some CSS skills (even if it's just some basics, to fill the large colour areas) Dreamweaver will do all the hardwork for you, this will also have a positive impact on the performance of your site.

I need a case for my iPhone 4. I don't want it to be too bulky, and I don't need too much coverage.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hello All
I don't know if this is the right place to do it or not but here goes:
I am a proud owner of a 2011 MBP and am absolutely in love with the latest from Cupertino. I had previously compiled a bunch of reviews from the experts on my blog at http://bit.ly/fp35F7 , before mine got delivered.
This time, I wanted to write my own review and thought I should get feedback from other members of this community as well:
If you would like to share a well-written review of your 2011 MacBook Pro - 13/15/17 in at least 100 words and 1 image, then I am your man.
I want to compile all of the submissions I collect here into one big blog post, which each of the reviewers can also publish on their blog. I think it would be interesting to see this all in one post.
What say folks?

I have stuck with Tiger in my G4s, so I can't speak to Leopard's performance.
You should install the maximum possible amount of RAM before doing anything else, but a HDD upgrade will definitely improve performance as well and should make the machine perfectly suitable for general internet browsing and basic image editing/light gaming work and so forth.
Bear in mind that these machines are only going to get older, and G4s can never handle HD video, so while they are perfectly servicable you will want to limit the amount of money you put into upgrades.

I agree, to be a professional landscape/nature photographer you have to be really good. Actually, from my "hobby photographer outside looking in" perspective, being a successful photographer for profit is more about marketing and sales than about the photography itself. Let's face it, while there are some true photographic geniuses out there, almost anyone can learn to be a competent photographer with a little work and dedication. Once you are competent, it's all about selling.
I'm not sure about animals looking at the camera though. I heard a good saying once, that the pros don't go out to shoot animals. They go out and shoot animal behavior. In other words, the most compelling pictures of animals is when you have captured them doing something unique or exhibiting some special behavior. Pictures of lions sitting on rocks, cheetahs in the grass, etc. are dime a dozen. Pictures of lions or cheetahs taking down a zebra, that is more special.

Hi,
Has anyone been able to force an apple store to guarantee a Lion O/S upgrade for free with the purchase of a Macbook pro now?
Just curious.
Thanks!
Usually the Up-to-Date programs start on the day the announce the release date (or announce something more specific than "summer"--like a month) and end a few months after the release.
The Snow Leopard UTD lasted from June 8 to December 29.

No problem with Snow Leopard here.
What software crashes.
Except I've had the same results on all the machines I've had that ran Snow Leopard.
MacBook Pro 2.33ghz Late 2006
MacBook Pro 13 2.26
Mac Mini 2.26
Mac Mini 2.4
MacBook Pro 2.66
It's been equally problematic on all of them.
Seems to be user problem. You probably have one piece of software that's causing the problem.

If it was a 30 day wait I may be persuaded but to wait until September is too much time not enjoying the Sandy Bridge iMac.

My mom and dad both have a Samsung Strive on AT&T and it doesn't require a data plan, and if they can figure out how to use it, then anyone can.

Hey guys,
First of all, great website!
I was wondering if we could get an iOS forum as well, since there's one for Mac OS X, and none specifically for iOS (unless i'm blind). It seems that a lot of people are talking about iOS updates in the iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch forums.
What do you guys think?

If Apple does decide to release a 30 display, it would more then likely be aimed at the video or research markets, instead of the consumer market!!
But there are people how love to live lavish, so someone will purchase it!!!! ;) ;) :p
