Motorcycle killers strike anew in Cagayan de Oro - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos: "Motorcycle-riding killers struck anew here on Friday and shot to death a man who had been in and out of jail for various offenses.

Maxwell Baloncio, 31, became the latest victim of what appears to be a fresh wave of vigilante-style killings here.

Senior Inspector Buenaventura Reyes, head of the police in Cagayan de Oro’s Cogon district, said Baloncio, a resident of Barangay Camaman-an, was standing at the gutter side of the pedestrian lane near the Cogon Public Market when one of two motorcycle-riding men wearing full-faced helmets shot him twice at close range.

Reyes said that, as in the other killings here, the police have still no leads to the motive or the identities of the assailants."
